Interstellar - Review Certain things in life are precious. Very precious. And so was the Film for me. Why you might ask? Well seldom do i get the chance where i find myself sitting in a cinema anxious and intrigued by what might come. In a time where trailers are omnipresent and going to the movies without having seen one seems unreasonable. This is the second book of the InterstellarNet series. Unlike the first one, New Order is a single story. Like the first, though, it's interstellarnet review -download -pdf hard science fiction storytelling.

Lerner does good things with aliens and he has a great grasp of how to weave his science throughout a story without dragging it down. New Order is more intense and darker than the first book, ending in all out war on the edge of the solar system. The book's conclusion genuinely surprised me which is almost always a good thing.

And as an aside, I loved the tiny nod to Sherlock Holmes. Dammit, Ed. You made me get all teary. A terrific read. Looking forward to the third one. One person found this helpful. While the underlying foundation of the original set of stories was economics this story focuses on strategy and warfare and the Snake civilization. The Snake civilization sets up as a key competitor to humans in the interstellar space.

Each race has similar attributes but the humans share other points view with the Centauris. The richness of the series continues to unfold and promises to set the stage for great stories to come.

I can't wait to keep reading. Good story, definitely worth reading if you enjoyed the first book. However I was disappointed that the author went to all that trouble to create a credible InterstellarNet universe, and then made it largely obsolete in his next book by introducing interstellar travel powered by future-physics handwaving.

Format: Paperback Verified Purchase. Very good book, interesting ideas. Lerner looks at things differently then do most other writers. I look forward to more in the series. Good story that kept my interest with well defined charecters. Good story twists that allowed the reader consider several paths toward the books conlusion.

I read some, but not all, of these stories when they came out in SSF magazines. The idea the are based on is a major part of their interest.

If the idea of interstellar commerce without faster than light communications is interesting to you the book will be, interstellarnet review -download -pdf, If not the plot and characters won;t carry it forward. A very good outlook on the future of our world. Interesting read. But it is a little less compact script than I would have like to give this one 5 stars. This is an interesting interstellarnet review -download -pdf of interstellar travel and communication, interstellarnet review -download -pdf.

Involving first contact between multiple alien species, treachery, and space warfare. Hard science fiction at its best. Great read. Saw the latest installment of this series in Analog and decided I had to buy the earlier versions. Its a great take on first contact - wll worth the read. Need customer service? Click here.
